Our method is based on the Orton-Gillingham and Science of Reading principles—explicit, structured, and multisensory learning that works with the way the dyslexic brain learns best. Whether that is through Dyslexia Therapy or Reading Tutoring, your child will be prescribed exactly what they need to rewire the neural pathways in their brain. We offer:
Dyslexia and Beyond provides services by only highly trained Certified Academic Language Therapists who are skilled in a multisensory structured approach that integrates visual, auditory, and motor processing with an explicit understanding of the structure of the English Language.
Dyslexia and Beyond provides small group and one-on-one dyslexia therapy to students identified with dyslexia, at risk for dyslexia, who have a specific learning disability in reading, fluency, comprehension, writing, and spelling. We also tutor undiagnosed students who are struggling to keep up with their grade-level standards using our highly skilled methods. We do not use a one-size-fits-all approach. We believe in tailoring each session to the specific needs of each student while maintaining the fidelity of all the programs.
We make decisions based on data collected from school, home, and onboarding assessment calls. We then use this data appropriately to prescribe instructions with the highest standard by a certified academic language therapist.
We help students celebrate their learning differences and teach them how to proudly advocate for themselves. We offer social and emotional support to help with anxiety and attention difficulties.
We also offer advocacy services while educating parents and students on their rights under IDEA and 504 so all their needs are met in their school environment.
Dyslexia is not just a diagnosis; it's a journey that calls for heartfelt dedication to truly understand and embrace the distinct learning needs of each individual. The path to empowerment involves a combination of targeted interventions, intentional accommodations, and effective strategies that affirm the unique learning styles of those affected.
Educational interventions, including phonics-based instruction and multisensory learning, are key in helping individuals build reading and writing skills. Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and specialized tutoring provide personalized support.
In educational settings, accommodations help level the playing field for dyslexic students, who often put in considerably more effort compared to their nondyslexic peers.
Early intervention is vital; identifying dyslexia young and implementing appropriate support can significantly improve literacy skills. Collaboration among parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals is essential, as is addressing emotional challenges like frustration and anxiety to foster confidence.
Though dyslexia is a lifelong condition with no cure, effective reading and writing strategies can be developed with proper support, enabling students to overcome challenges and achieve their full academic potential.
